In these conditions, the Platu confirmed its seaworthy qualities and delivered spectacular glides, while the crews were put to the test to manage the spinnaker in these conditions. The hospitality, organization, and friendliness provided by the Organizing Committee of the Royal Tevereremo Rowing Club, supported by Capo D'Anzio, were splendid. Campionato Italiano 2024 Platu 25.

Francesco Lanera's Euz II adds another Italian Championship title to his prestigious international trophy cabinet in the Platu 25 Class. The team: Paolo Cian at the helm, Paolo Montefusco on tactics, Corrado Capece Minutolo on sheets, Francesco Lanera in the center, and Roberto Santomanco on the bow. The Anzio race course lived up to tradition and, thanks in part to a significant high-pressure system that had leveled off across Italy, provided participants with three splendid days of sunshine and the resulting thermal breeze, with winds of up to 10 knots on the second day, allowing for all eight scheduled races. The Measurement Committee was highly committed, and the checks carried out by the measurers present, both on land and at sea, were extremely rigorous and useful in anticipation of the 2024 World Championships for the class in September. The Race Officers were impeccable in coordinating the buoy-laying and counter-starting teams, finding the right time and space to impeccably set up the courses. The Reale Circolo Tevere Remo, with its customary hospitality and friendliness, arranged the rest. This was essential for the realization, by all accounts, of a magnificent event. Second place overall, first Owner/Helmsman and First Corinthians, and therefore a highly decorated and very welcome new entry, was the Fandango (Associazione Velica Senigallia) crew of Marco Angiolini, at the helm; Pietro Corbucci, mainsail and tactics; Enrico Clementi, trimmer; Luca Martinelli, center; and Filippo Scirocchi, bow. In third place overall was GRE 2511 Oceanida, a very friendly Greek crew led by Stelios Noutos, IPCA Secretary General and organizer of the World Championship in Athens (Sept. 22-28). Many prominent youngsters from the world of dinghy sailing made the dockside moments fun and entertaining, and the racing extremely competitive. Among them, the Sicilian boys from Palermo Sport on IRRITANTE stood out, winning the Under 24 trophy. They were highly motivated and captained by Giovanni Sanfilippo. The following standings were very tight, with many changes in position over the three days and very few points separating the various crews, demonstrating the high technical level of the class.
